LBBC Extends Breast Cancer Helpline Hours to 9 p.m. ET, Mon. – Fri.

The expansion of live calling hours makes the Breast Cancer Helpline more accessible to women on the West Coast and to those who work during the day

November 1, 2013

Living Beyond Breast Cancer will offer live call hours on our toll-free Breast Cancer Helpline, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. ET, beginning November 4. The expanded hours will help more women affected by breast cancer get the confidential peer emotional support and practical information they need as they face the disease.

“We are thrilled to expand our Breast Cancer Helpline hours until 9 p.m. ET, Monday – Friday,” said Lynn Ann Folkman, CMP, LBBC’s manager of volunteer programs. “Our goal with the Helpline hours expansion is to make this service more accessible to those residing on the West Coast as well as to those on the East Coast who are unable to call during daytime hours.”

This expansion comes nearly a year after live Helpline calling hours were extended to 5 days a week. The growth of this service occurs in time for the holiday season, when some women might experience complex emotions related to their breast cancer diagnosis, treatment or recovery.

“The holidays can be a difficult time for those who are dealing with a new diagnosis and who are eager to connect with someone who understands,” Lynn adds. “I would like to thank our dedicated Helpline volunteers for making this possible.”

Our Breast Cancer Helpline will connect you with someone who cares and knows what you are feeling. We can match you with an understanding volunteer who has faced a similar diagnosis, circumstance, or who shares a common concern. If you call us after 9 p.m. ET or at any time on the weekends, we encourage you to leave a voice message. Calls are returned within 24 hours, oftentimes sooner. If you prefer to request a call online, you can do so by completing and submitting  our online request form.

If you need support, we are here for you. Call our Helpline at (888) 753-LBBC (5222), today, or when you’re ready. To learn more about this service, visit
