National Retailers Unveil Products Aimed to Raise Funds for Education, Support Services for Breast Cancer Survivors

HAVERFORD, Pa. — September 29, 2009 — In support of national Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a variety of national retailers will offer an array of specially designed products during the month of October to raise funds for Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC), a national nonprofit organization based outside Philadelphia.

Promotions range from household products and cosmetics to glassware and accessories. Sales will help LBBC to continue its mission of empowering all women affected by breast cancer to live as long as possible with the best quality of life, regardless of educational background, social support or financial means.

"We have developed several new collaborations with business and community leaders this year while continuing to strengthen relationships with past supporters," said Jean A. Sachs, MSS, MLSP, chief executive officer of Living Beyond Breast Cancer. "We thank them all for partnering with us—their generosity and commitment allows us to focus on our mission and help women affected by breast cancer."

Riedel Crystal has introduced Pink CrescendO, a set of four limited edition pink glasses, specifically created to benefit LBBC. The $70 set features four Chardonnay/Viognier glasses, each in a different delicate shade of pink—from just a whisper of color to a rosy glow. In addition to the CrescendO, Riedel will continue to offer the Pink Vinum Rosé set ($59), introduced in 2007. Riedel Crystal will donate 15 percent of the sale of each CrescendO and Pink Vinum Rosé set to LBBC. Visit your local Bed Bath & Beyond.

Keep snacks fresh in Rubbermaid’s pink TakeAlongfood containers with double seal and lid grips and quench your thirst with the Refill Reusepink water bottle that’s BPA-free and eliminates bottle waste. Six percent of the proceeds go to LBBC. Available in stores nationwide.

Solano International offers this 1,875-watt dryer with three temperature settings, removable filter, a long-life AC motor for optimal performance, a ceramic thermal grill to distribute heat evenly, special minerals to smooth hair and minimize fly-aways, an extra long cord with a hanging ring and a care and repair warranty. Partial proceeds benefit LBBC. The Power to Prevent dryer is available at major distributors and beauty supply stores nationwide. Finally, the perfect pink nail polish has arrived just in time for the most important month of the year! This October, Essie Cosmetics will donate 10 percent of sales from a limited edition product. Beautify your nails with a soft, sheer Yes We Can, PINK! nail color.

Look and feel like a celebrity! Jane Iredale of Iredale Mineral Cosmetics has developed a new lipstick shade for LBBC. Christina PureMoist Lipcolour, named in honor of actress and breast cancer survivor Christina Applegate, comes in a universally flattering pink shade you’re sure to love.
