Shopping for a Cause: October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Haverford, Pa., Oct. 5, 2010 — In support of national Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a variety of national retailers will offer an array of specially designed products during the month of October to raise funds for Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC), a national nonprofit organization based outside Philadelphia.

Promotions range from eco-friendly products and high-end cosmetics to crystal glassware and embellished accessories. Sales will help LBBC to continue its mission of empowering all women affected by breast cancer to live as long as possible with the best quality of life, regardless of educational background, social support or financial means.

“We have developed several new collaborations with business and community leaders this year while continuing to strengthen relationships with past supporters,” said Jean A. Sachs, MSS, MLSP, chief executive officer of Living Beyond Breast Cancer. “We thank them all for partnering with us—their generosity and commitment allows us to focus on our mission and help women affected by breast cancer.”

Riedel Crystal has introduced Ouverture Pink Toasting Flutes, a set of two non-lead, machine-blown, crystal clear toasting glasses with long-pulled stems, specifically created to benefit LBBC. The $39.90 set features nine-inch-tall glasses that taper as they flow downward toward a bright pink crystal base. Leading luxury British spa and skincare brand Elemis supports LBBC with its limited edition skincare kit for “sparkling beauties.” Elemis will donate $10 to LBBC for every $95 kit sold.
