HAVERFORD, PA – June 23, 2011 – Laura Cozik, Athletic Director for the CNN Triathlon Challenge and Founder and CEO of Team Lipstick – New York’s largest and most successful all-female triathlon team – recently announced that Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) has been chosen as the Team’s charity partner for their newest chapter in Pennsylvania.
“Living Beyond Breast Cancer is extraordinary and Team Lipstick is honored to align themselves with this important organization,” said Cozik. “My closest friend has been diagnosed with breast cancer twice. Organizations like LBBC provide women just like her and across the country with the educational information and support resources they need most when diagnosed with breast cancer, when undergoing treatment, when they’re past treatment or if living with advanced disease.”
Team Lipstick PA is now recruiting women interested in training for and participating in a triathlon. An informational meeting will be held on Monday, June 27 at 6pm at Cadence: The World's Cycling & Multisport Authority, 4323 Main Street in Philadelphia, PA where Cozik will introduce the 12-week beginner program she has developed for aspiring tri-athletes and to answer any questions about the Team Lipstick experience. Joining Cozik will be Lisa Messer of Philadelphia. Messer, diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, has since become an accomplished tri-athlete and LBBC supporter and has accepted the invitation to serve as Team Lipstick PA’s Head Captain and Coach.
