The founders of H.U.G.S encourage you to donate a piece of fabric that you grew attached to during the time of diagnosis. It could be anything from a T-shirt, a blanket, or a head wrap. The fabric is then embroidered onto the scarf as the finishing touch. By parting ways with the piece of fabric that created a sense of strength in one's journey, you are then reassured that you are not alone.
The stylish line of hats and head wraps is not completed without acknowledging who in fact took part in the initiative! The H.U.G.S scarves will include the name of the person who donated the fabric, followed by a short note that introduces the person’s courage and the story behind the fabric. In short, the design phase incorporates a compelling way to remind you that another woman of breast cancer knows what it’s like and also understands your story.
