About Our Speaker

Dr. Carey is an associate professor at the University of North Carolina in the department of medicine, division of hematology and oncology. She is an expert in triple-negative breast cancer and led the first trial looking at a new treatment regimen in this breast cancer subtype. Dr. Carey's research interests also focus on breast cancer, including examining different subtypes of breast cancer, evaluating new chemotherapy medicines in early breast cancer, and studying tumor traits that predict response to therapy.
