About Our Speakers
Dr. Borges is an associate professor at the University of Colorado Denver and the director for the Young Women’s Breast Cancer Translational Program. The YWBCTP seeks to identify the cause for increased risk of death among young women with breast cancer, focusing on the relationship between pregnancy and the increased aggressive nature of breast cancers diagnosed in the years following the birth of a child.
Dr. Borges works to define the role of immune suppression in young women’s breast cancer and the impact of tumor-induced immune suppression by biologic subtype of breast cancer, as well as to identify the impact pregnancy immune suppression may add to this situation.
This program is sponsored by Amgen and Genentech.
