About Our Speaker
Tiffany P. Avery, MD is a board certified medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of breast cancer patients. She conducts research on breast cancer and is the principal investigator of four clinical trials evaluating new treatments for the disease. In particular, her research focuses on triple-negative breast cancer and treatment options, survival disparities among those with breast cancer, and minority participation in clinical trials. Dr. Avery has presented her research findings at national meetings of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association of Cancer Research conference on disparities in breast cancer. In addition, she has been invited to speak to both medical and lay audiences about breast cancer topics including Latinas for the Cure and Sisters for the Cure, both sponsored by the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and Sisters Surviving Breast Cancer, sponsored by The American Cancer Society.
