More Ways to Help
Looking for other ways to give back? Here are some tips on how you can get involved:
Serve on a Committee
We believe partnering with people affected by breast cancer will help us better serve those coping with the disease. You can help by volunteering for a Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC).
As a CAC member, you will work alongside people affected by breast cancer to advise LBBC on our print and online resources. Communicating by telephone and e-mail, an LBBC staff member or partner will ask for your views about and experiences of breast cancer. You may be asked to review brochures, photographs, websites or other materials that we develop based on comments from the group. No special expertise or experience is necessary—just energy and a willingness to participate.
Previous topics on which we formed CACs include hormonal therapies, symptoms and treatment side effects of metastatic breast cancer, bone health, anxiety and depression and financial concerns.
To express interest in joining a CAC, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, age, city and state and year of diagnosis. Let us know what topics most interest you, and we’ll contact you when we form a committee to explore them.
