Judy C. Boughey, MD
Judy C. Boughey, MD, is an associate professor of surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and a lead researcher on the BEAUTY Project, a study with the goal of identifying genetic mutations and cancer pathway changes before and after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (chemotherapy given before surgery).
Dr. Boughey’s research interests include neoadjuvant chemotherapy, sentinel lymph node removal and preventive mastectomy. She was recently lead researcher on the national study ACOSOG-Z1071, which assessed the removal of sentinel lymph nodes in node-positive breast cancer after neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
Dr. Boughey is vice chair of the educational committee for the American College of Surgeons Clinical Research Program (ACS CRP).
