Lynn Folkman Auspitz, Manager, Community Engagement
Lynn manages and implements LBBC's volunteer initiatives, including the live Breast Cancer Helpline, recruitment and training and national volunteer programs. She is responsible for managing volunteer appreciation events and awards, recruiting and training volunteers on a national level to represent LBBC in their communities and overseeing the travel grant program for LBBC conferences and events.
Lynn has more than 25 years of professional experience in special events, meeting planning, operations, marketing and communications in the nonprofit, corporate and government sectors. She most recently worked as director of meeting services for Apothecom, a medical communications company.
Lynn was introduced to LBBC shortly after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. While she was in active treatment, she attended the fall conference and was drawn to the empowering nature of the LBBC mission. She became a volunteer shortly after and trained on the Breast Cancer Helpline in September 2011. Lynn joined the staff in May 2012 as volunteer coordinator, and was promoted to volunteer programs manager in November of that year.
“I am thrilled to be a part of the Living Beyond Breast Cancer organization and family,” Lynn says. “I feel that this is the perfect opportunity to use my professional experience in a way that makes me feel connected to the women that directly benefit from the kind of holistic support that LBBC offers.”
Lynn’s interests include holistic health, spiritual exploration, reading, writing, walking and attending theater. Lynn lives in Philadelphia with her husband and four cats.
