Hillary C.M. Nelson, PhD, MPH
Hillary Nelson received her PhD in biochemistry from MIT and spent the next 25 years as a scientist, most recently as a professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Following her own bout with breast cancer, she shut down her research laboratory and started to retrain in public health. She just completed her MPH at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and is now teaching both biochemistry and public health, as well as working on health policy issues at the intersection of science and public health. Among her many public health interests is the new health reform bill, which she has been analyzing.
