Stacey Young-McCaughan, MSN, PhD

Stacey Young-McCaughan, MSN, PhD, is a professor of psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she serves as a consortium coordinator for the South Texas Research Organizational Network Guiding Studies on Trauma & Resilience (STRONG STAR) Consortium. She is also an adjunct assistant professor of nursing in the Graduate School of Nursing at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md.

Dr. Young-McCaughan is a registered nurse with a doctoral degree in physiological nursing. She served 29 years in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps with a primary focus on oncology. Her research focuses on symptom management and testing exercise interventions as rehabilitation methods after disease.

Dr. Young-McCaughan is also an Intergovernmental Personnel Act research scientist to the Brooke Army Medical Center in the department of clinical investigation, in San Antonio, Texas. She is a member of the Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research/Applied Research Ethics National Association; American Academy of Sports Medicine; and American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
