Sharon Kern, a doctoral student at the Duquesne University School of Nursing, is recruiting women with breast cancer for an online research study under the guidance of Linda Goodfellow, PhD, RN. This study is designed to learn more about uncertainty, perceived threat, stress, positive appraisal, and daily spiritual experiences in women with breast cancer or with a history of breast cancer. This study has been approved by the Duquesne University Institutional Review Board.
What does the study involve?
The study is currently in the recruitment phase. The researcher seeks women diagnosed with breast cancer whether in active treatment or in survivorship for this study. This online survey consists of three (3) questionnaires and will take about 30 minutes for you to complete. Participation in the surveys is completely voluntary and confidential. There is also an option to participate in a phone interview to further explore your feelings about daily spiritual experiences. You will be asked at the end of the surveys if you wish to participate in the telephone interview and if ‘Yes’ you will be asked for contact information. If you decide to take part in the optional telephone interview, a bankcard for $15.00 will be mailed to you after the completion of the telephone interview for your time and any inconvenience in participating in this study.
