Kathy Townsend lives in San Antonio, Texas and is a proud military wife and mother of four. She has been married to her college sweetheart for 25 years. They have three daughters and one son ages 24, 23, 19 and 16.
Kathy says her “on-the-go” life has “always been challenging, because they have moved from place to place as a military family.” It became even more challenging in June 2015 when she was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. Kathy now spends her time using her blogging skills to write about her experiences with metastatic breast cancer and doing her best to find quiet moments of calm in the storm.
Kathy says, “I have always found solace in helping others and will continue to do so despite my own personal struggles. My goal as a Community Connector will be to educate and provide support to the breast cancer community in those areas most needed or neglected. Doing my part to help address the needs of this community and to continue to push for more research for a cure is my new priority. I want to help pave the way for a cancer-free future.”
