Hollye Jacobs, RN, MS, MSW

Hollye Jacobs, RN, MS, MSW is a nurse, social worker, child development specialist, and speaker who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. She speaks publicly and writes about her experience on the award-winning The Silver Pen blog. The blog is an everyday source of inspiration and information for women with breast cancer, focusing on health, balance, humor and above all, silver linings.

Ms. Jacobs has worked as an adult and pediatric palliative care nurse, social worker and educator for more than 15 years at the University of Chicago Children’s Hospital, the City of Hope National Medical Center, the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Her professional knowledge as a health practitioner and her personal experiences as a cancer patient and survivor present a powerful package. In addition to writing The Silver Pen, Ms. Jacobs also contributes to The Huffington Post, BreastCancer.org, Susan G. Komen, and the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation Army of Women blog.
