Ingrid Mapanao

Outreach Manager

As program coordinator of the Young Women’s Initiative, Ingrid is responsible for assisting in the implementation of Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s Young Women’s Initiative (YWI). She supports content development, coordinates physical and virtual events and provides administrative support. Ingrid also assists in the selection of topics for written materials and programs. In addition to coordinating logistics for various in-person YWI programs held throughout the country, Ingrid establishes, cultivates and stewards relationships with external organizations and individual partnerships related to YWI.

Ingrid has a background in public health and an interest in working with underserved populations, specifically youth and women. Ingrid received her bachelor’s degree in health science with a minor in public relations from San Jose State University. Before joining LBBC, Ingrid was the project coordinator of the North County Prevention Partnership at Asian American Recovery Services’ (AARS), a program of HealthRIGHT 360. In that role, she implemented a community-based partnership grant on alcohol and drug environmental prevention policies. Ingrid also served as a youth activities coordinator for AARS’s Safe-Summer Activities Program and an Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs team lead with SJSU’s Peer Health Education Program.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Ingrid moved to the Philadelphia area seeking to grow professionally and personally. During her free time, Ingrid loves catching up with friends at local coffee shops, working on Do-It-Yourself (DIY) projects, cleaning her apartment as a means of therapy and spending hours watching YouTube videos for some good laughs.

What inspires my work at LBBC:Working for LBBC doesn’t feel like “work” to me. I feel blessed to be  part of an amazing team of staff members who truly care about the people we serve.  I’m also inspired by the stories of those touched by breast cancer. Hearing their stories keeps me going and motivates me to help make an impact in some way even if it’s just simply putting a smile on their face.
