Mitchell L. Gaynor, MD, was the founder and president of Gaynor Integrative Oncology and Gaynor Wellness, in New York City. Dr. Gaynor was board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. He treated chronic diseases, particularly cancer, with scientifically grounded therapies that complement traditional treatments. He had served as director of medical oncology at The Strang Cancer Prevention Center, in New York City, and was a former medical director and director of medical on­cology at the Weill Cornell Medical Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine, in New York City.

When acting as a speaker and author, Dr. Gaynor often focused on cancer and its causes, and therapies that reverse cancer damage and promote health. Dr. Gaynor had been listed in “The Best Doctors in New York” every year since 1997.

Dr. Gaynor died in September 2015. He was a member of Living Beyond Breast Cancer's medical advisory board and advised us on a variety of content related to complementary and integrative care. He will be deeply missed.
