Silvia Formenti, MD

Silvia C. Formenti, MD, is a professor of radiation oncology and medicine and the Sandra and Edward H. Meyer Chairman of the department of radiation oncology at NYU Langhorne Medical Center. Dr. Formenti is also a program leader of the breast cancer research program of the NYU Cancer Institute.

Throughout her career, Dr. Formenti’s research has focused on women’s malignancies, with particular attention to underserved communities and women of color. Her interests include assessing the molecular characteristics of tumors before beginning treatment in order to develop a new model for the treatment of locally advanced breast cancer. Dr. Formenti has worked with LBBC as both a speaker and reviewer of program materials.
