Jamie Cohen

Manager, Fundraising Events

As the Fundraising Events Coordinator, Jamie supports logistics, planning, and event management for LBBC’s fundraising events, including Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s Reach & Raise, The Butterfly Ball, and third party and do-it-yourself fundraising events program (DIYS) to increase overall support and expand the donor base.

Jamie was born and raised in South Florida, but has been a resident of Center City Philadelphia since 1999 and now calls the City of Brotherly Love her home.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University, where she also played on the FIU tennis team.  Following college, she spent nearly 15 years in hotel sales and hospitality management and, since that time, has worked in event planning and development in both the not-for-profit and for-profit arenas.

When she’s not working, Jamie enjoys playing tennis, traveling and spending time with her husband and two daughters.

What inspires my work at LBBC:

“In 1999, my mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic breast cancer, and doctors told us that she had a very short time to live.  However, due to my mom’s unwavering fight and support from different cancer organizations, my mom defied all of the doctor’s predictions and fought the good fight for 3 years.  It is the memory of my mom, and her unbelievably positive approach that inspires not only my work at LBBC, but my attitude every day.”
