Study to Assess Effects of Exercise on Breast Cancer Risk in Young Women

Researchers seek women between the ages of 18 to 35 who have not had cancer and who are at an increased risk of developing breast cancer because of family or personal medical history to participate in a study that will assess whether exercise may reduce breast cancer risk.
The study is being conducted by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
If you are eligible to participate in this study, you will be provided with an in-home treadmill. You will be required to exercise for 60 minutes five times a week for a period of five months. You also will be asked to provide urine samples periodically over several months and to come to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania two times over seven months. This study is open to women who live within the Philadelphia metro area.
