Study to Evaluate Coping Strategies of Caregivers
By Mary Alice Hartsock, LBBC Staff
If you are providing care for a family member or friend with cancer, you may be able to participate in the Family Caregiver Study
Trial Starts: 7/1/2007
Sponsored By: National Cancer Institute
Researchers at The National Cancer Institute, a federal agency, and the George Washington School of Medicine seek women between the ages of 31 and 80 who are caring for someone with cancer to participate in a research study that will evaluate the coping strategies of female caregivers.
During a 15-20 minute phone conversation, researchers will ask you questions about yourself and your experience as a caregiver. If you qualify to participate, you may be asked to provide additional information about your experiences in a follow-up telephone interview that will last 45-60 minutes.
Who Can Participate?
You are eligible to participate if you are female, between the ages of 31 and 80 and:
- Are providing care for someone over the age of 20 with cancer; or
- You provided care for someone over the age of 20 with cancer at end-of-life within the last year
African-American and Hispanic caregivers are encouraged to contribute.
