Butterfly Ball

Annual Gala in Philadelphia to support LBBC’s education and support programs

Download the Virtual Tribute Album.

Save the date! On Saturday, October 3, LBBC’s Butterfly Ball will return to the Loews Philadelphia Hotel. Gala donations provide funding for our education and support programs for women affected by breast cancer.

At this year’s event, LBBC will honor five women affected by breast cancer, including one of our own! Our education director, Elyse S. Caplan, MA, will be presented with the Founder’s Award for her outstanding professional contributions to educating and supporting women affected by breast cancer. We will also honor Aundreia Alexander, Wendy Jonas, Phyllis Markoff and Emily Scattergood for their courage, compassion and contribution to women and families affected by breast cancer.

The evening will include a live and silent auction, dinner, entertainment and more. Please join us in celebrating our honorees and the lives of women who have contributed significantly to LBBC’s mission.

In an effort to conserve dollars and paper, this year’s Butterfly Ball will feature a virtual tribute album instead of an ad book. Sponsors and individuals may place a tribute in the virtual tribute album in honor or in memory of a loved one affected by breast cancer. Participants will also have an opportunity to win some fabulous grand prize drawing items by purchasing a ticket to enter the drawing.

Special thanks to our 2009 gala committee, led by co-chairs Jacki and Eric Blumenfeld, Howard and Emily Cutler and Byron and Paulina Hewett for planning this wonderful event. For more information and to inquire about sponsorship and virtual tribute album opportunities, e-mail our special events manager Lauren Ainsworth at or call us at (610) 645-4567.
