Photos and merchandise from the 7th Annual Yoga Unites for Living Beyond Breast Cancer are now available to view or purchase online.

On Sunday, May 17, more than 500 individuals and teams of all ages and walks of life braved the rain and cold to join LBBC on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Participants experienced the healing benefits of this ancient form of physical movement while raising over $100,000 for LBBC’s education and support programs.

About Yoga Unites

Our program was led by emcee Tracey Tannenbaum of WXPN, the official radio sponsor of the 7th Annual Yoga Unites. After LBBC Survivors’ Helpline volunteer, yoga instructor and top fundraiser Beatrice Marx told her inspirational story of how yoga helps relieve stress and anxiety as she goes through treatment for advanced (metaststic) breast cancer, hundreds took part in a yoga class for people of all ages and skill levels led by instructor Jennifer Schelter. During the class, the musical group Samadhi Kirtan performed Kirtan chanting, one of the oldest musical traditions. Afterward, participants enjoyed a light breakfast and live entertainment while browsing our Healthy Living Expo featuring a wealth of information on fitness, yoga, healthful foods and other complementary goods and services. Participants also wrote messages of hope, encouragement or sorrow in honor or memory of loved ones on a banner to be used at future Living Beyond Breast Cancer events.
