Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) has announced the release of the Guide to Understanding HER2- Positive Breast Cancer, the newest title in a library of free publications available in print and digital formats. Each of these guide has been written to address the needs of those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

This new guide provides insights and answers about HER2-positive breast cancer, sometimes called HER2-amplified breast cancer. “HER” is a protein that lives on the outside of breast cells. Some breast cancer cells make too much of this protein, which makes the cells grow faster than normal. HER2-positive breast cancers can be more aggressive than other types. The good news is that there are effective treatments, called targeted therapies.

Knowing what is unique about HER2-positive breast cancer is important. This new guide was created to give readers advice and tips to help them:

  • Make treatment decisions
  • Ask questions and speak openly with doctors
  • Take an active role in their breast cancer care
  • Work through difficult emotions
  • Talk about diagnosis with loved ones
  • Live the best life possible during treatment and beyond

The Guide to Understanding HER2-Positive Breast Cancer was authored by LBBC’s writer and content coordinator, Erin Rowley, and reviewed by a panel of medical experts and diagnosed women.
