Same great event, brand new name!
Philadelphia - May 21, 2017
Reach out. Raise up. Make a difference.
Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s Reach & Raise isn’t your traditional fundraiser! Across the country, it's bringing communities together to connect, celebrate and practice yoga in beautiful, iconic locations – all to support those whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. At this year's Philadelphia event we raised over $378,000 for our programs and services!
Why the new name?
Many of you might be thinking, “Isn’t this event called Yoga on the Steps”? It was – but we realized that name didn’t fully capture the special spirit of the event! (Also, it’s not so easy to do yoga on steps.) You can read more about the name change process in this blog post by our CEO, Jean Sachs, MSS, MLSP.
Yoga for a Reason
Since 2001, more than $2 million has been raised for LBBC’s programs and services for those facing a breast cancer diagnosis. In 2015 alone, we reached more than 500,000 through our comprehensive website, informative webinars and publications, and in-person conferences and meetings. With your help, we can increase our reach and help even more people affected by this disease.
What's Your Reason?
Whether you are an experienced yogi or have never done Downward Dog, Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s Reach & Raise is about community and connection, inspiration and support. Assistants are on hand to help you with unfamiliar moves, or you can just relax on your mat and enjoy the atmosphere. No matter how you participate, know you are making a difference in the lives of people in your community affected by breast cancer.
I participated in Denver, Fall 2015 for the first time. It was a truly amazing experience to do yoga outside in such a supportive, connected community; the practitioners leading and assisting were gentle and strong, as was the vibe of the whole event. I’m planning to bring my daughter with me to Philadelphia next year.
