Advanced Breast Cancer Treatment Update: Medical and Quality-of-Life News

Dr. Gradishar talks about recent breakthrough therapies for metastatic breast cancer. Learn about clinical trials that show how a new class of treatments called poly ADP-ribose polymerase (PARP) inhibitors can benefit women with triple-negative breast cancer and cancer caused by defects in the BRCA1 or BRCA 2 gene; the use of bisphosphonates, or bone-building or bone-strengthening pills, for bone metastases; and medicines such as bevacizumab (brand name: Avastin) that target HER2 and blood vessel growth.
