Medical Advisory Board

The mission of Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s Medical Advisory Board is to serve as an expert resource on issues of concern to people affected by breast cancer and their families and to assist with outreach to other health professionals and consumers about the breadth of LBBC programs for people affected by breast cancer.

Many Medical Advisory Board members help with reviewing content for our website and publications, serve as speakers at our events and help answer your questions about breast cancer during our ask-the-expert series.

 

  • Dr. Kauff is assistant attending physician of clinical genetics and gynecology services at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He specializes in the care of people who may have an inherited predisposition to cancer.

  • Dr. Komarnicky is chair of the department of radiation oncology and radiation oncology residency program director at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. She specializes in breast, lung and eye tumors. 

  • Dr. Lin is assistant professor in the department of medicine at Harvard Medical School. She is a medical oncologist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute focusing on the care of women with breast cancer.

  • Reshma L. Mahtani, DO, is a medical oncologist at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Miami Health system, and an associate professor of medicine at the University of Miami, in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Her practice focuses on breast cancer.

  • Ms. Mayer is an author, advocate and woman affected by breast cancer.

  • Dr. Mechanick Braverman, a clinical health psychologist, founded and practices at The Braverman Center for Health Journeys in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. She specializes in assisting people with fertility concerns, speaking widely to both laypeople and professionals on the impact of acute and chronic disease on building families.
