Living Beyond Breast Cancer, founded in 1991, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect people with trusted breast cancer information and a community of support.  LBBC provides support and education for individuals throughout the country who are impacted by breast cancer.  LBBC reaches more than 500,000 people annually through our publications, educational programs, website, social media and Breast Cancer Helpline.  LBBC is headquartered in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania and has a staff of 29 professionals.  For more information, visit LBBC.ORG.

LBBC Interns

LBBC seeks to engage interns in order to provide experiential educational opportunities and to complement the work of our professional staff.  Interns support all work of the organization: Programs and Partnerships, Advancement, Marketing, and Administration.  We seek to have internship support throughout the year and can provide flexible schedules.  All interns will be supervised by a staff person of at least a bachelor’s level in the functional area where their work is concentrated.

Internship assignments will vary based on the needs of LBBC and the skills of the identified interns.  Below are descriptions of the organization’s departments.  Potential interns should identify their area of interest in their cover letter.

Programs and Partnerships

The Programs and Partnerships department implements all educational and support programs for LBBC’s constituents.  The department is the hub for our resources and information, including all publications, research, and programs that we develop to support our constituents.

The Advancement department is responsible for the organization’s fundraising initiatives.  Major fundraising initiatives include an annual gala, signature fundraising events, corporate sponsorships, and individual donor cultivation.

The Marketing team is responsible for the organization’s marketing strategy, including branding and promotion of programs and events.  The organization’s advertising, website, social media platforms and marketing materials are coordinated in this department.

The Administration department runs all business operations for the organization, including finance, human resources, IT, database management, and governance.  The Administration Department also oversees the organization’s strategic planning efforts.
