Dr. Rojas’s research and clinical work focus on improving survivorship and quality of life after breast cancer. Through MUSIC, her translational survivorship research also supports clinical trials of novel therapies for genitourinary syndrome of menopause and other sexual health concerns after cancer.

Her work bridges breast surgery, survivorship, and sexual health education. She has published and presented widely on breast cancer care, opioid-sparing pain management, sexual health after cancer, menopausal side effects, and quality-of-life concerns. In 2023, she received the National Institutes of Health (NIH) / National Cancer Institute (NCI) Early-Stage Surgeon Scientist Program (ESSP) Award to support her research exploring the impact of opioids in breast cancer, notably how they may influence breast cancer progression through the gut microbiome. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of the National Consortium of Breast Centers and has been recognized with honors including Castle Connolly Top Doctors and the University of Miami’s Excellence in Student Teaching Award.
