Alanna T. Mitchell MBA
Director, Talent Management and Diversity
Alanna's career began in public and media relations, and she spent many years leading internal communications and external affairs for organizations and initiatives.
Today, Alanna is focused on employees’ experience, especially those marginalized in society and the workplace. She brings a studied, committed approach to internal strategic thinking that includes team engagement and leadership development at all organizational levels.
Prior to joining LBBC, Alanna was a consultant specializing in community engagement, DEI-centered staff initiatives, human resources, and internal as well as external communications strategies. Before that, she led stakeholder relations, communications, in-school programs, information technology, and development for nonprofit organizations. Alanna earned her bachelor's degree from Temple University in journalism and public relations, a Master of Business Administration in organizational leadership from Eastern University, and a certificate in nonprofit executive leadership from Bryn Mawr College.
Alanna is a Philadelphia native and a foodie. She also obtained an associate degree in culinary arts from The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College. Breast cancer has also affected her family, so she believes in the mission of LBBC and understands the importance of having a community that supports, informs, and ensures that everyone has information at their fingertips.
I have an opportunity to create an environment where employees from diverse backgrounds can succeed, create spaces in which ideas can be shared, and truly be included in an organization’s framework.
