Walter Kowal has been working in budget development and professional financial management for over 20 years. He has an MBA and recently obtained a board certification as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Achieving each of these has required a great understanding of budget and financial management.
After Walter’s wife, Laura, was diagnosed with breast cancer, she recognized LBBC early on as a valuable organization and resource for survivors. Both Laura and Walter quickly grew committed to LBBC. Laura became a board member and eventually, chair of the organization.
Walter recognizes board involvement as an important responsibility and commitment. Other than spending time with his family, there is nothing he would rather do than devote some of his free time to LBBC through board involvement. He is passionate about the work being done by LBBC, and he feels a personal, vested interest in the success of the organization.
