Adriana Lecuona

Digital Content Producer

Adriana Lecuona writes, edits, and develops content for Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s various channels. She believes that using her writing skills in service to people impacted by breast cancer is a karmic gift, because over 12 years ago Adriana turned to writing as a coping strategy when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She is passionate about making content that will convey to every reader or viewer impacted by breast cancer that their experience, while individually unique, dwells firmly in the company of others.

Adriana earned her bachelor’s degree in anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in film and media arts at Temple University. More recently, she completed a second master’s degree in creative nonfiction writing from Goucher College. Prior to joining LBBC, Adriana served as the digital program officer for the Botstiber Institute of Austrian-American Studies, a nonprofit dedicated to the historic relationship between the US and Austria. She also served as the creative nonfiction editor of Philadelphia Stories.

Adriana lives in Wallingford with her husband and teenage son. She enjoys writing, movie-going, long walks, Asian food, and delights in any time spent with her son. Lately, she’s been reading – and loving – contemporary Japanese literature: Yoko Ogawa, Sayaka Murata, Hiromi Kawakami, and more.

Favorite quote related to her cancer experience:

“In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.” – Albert Camus
