As Community Engagement Coordinator, Kristen is responsible for assisting in the implementation of community engagement and volunteer initiatives in support of LBBC’s mission. She leads and manages volunteer staffing for in-office support and LBBC external events and provides supervision and guidance to volunteers. Kristen also supports LBBC’s Community Connector program, a group of highly trained ambassadors based throughout the country.
Kristen received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and has worked in the nonprofit sector for over 10 years in both the education and healthcare fields. Prior to joining LBBC, Kristen worked in Advancement at an independent, all-girls school in Charleston, SC where she managed the school’s fundraising events and community initiatives.
Kristen is originally from the Philadelphia region and is thrilled to be back home and has enjoyed re-discovering the area after a 15 year hiatus. A certified health coach, she is passionate about integrative health and nutrition and enjoys supporting others on their journey to wellness. During her free time, she practices yoga and loves to cook meals for family and friends.
What Inspires my Work at LBBC
Breast cancer affects everyone – directly or indirectly – and I’m honored to have the opportunity to work for an organization that engages individuals through meaningful interactions, educational programs and trusted resources. Getting to know our volunteers and hearing their stories is truly inspiring – they are a wonderful group of people and they serve as a constant reminder that the work we do at LBBC matters.
