Margaret’s passion for fundraising and events was ignited as an undergraduate at Douglass College – the women’s college of Rutgers University. There she studied Sociology and was fortunate to transition to staff at the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College, a unique nonprofit organization, after graduation. Between there and LBBC she focused her career on working with volunteers planning peer-to-peer fundraising events at two small Delaware Valley organizations. As Manager of Fundraising Events Margaret works to grow the flagship Reach and Raise program along with individual event fundraising.
When not working, Margaret loves life in the city of Philadelphia with her husband, Rob, and rescue dog, Penny. She comes from a large family who is spread out all over the globe. She enjoys traveling to make memories with them along with her close circle of girlfriends.
What inspires my work at LBBC:
LBBC’s mission and reputation sets it apart from other breast cancer organizations. Its strong staff and leadership have kept the organization at the forefront of empowering those affected by breast cancer and I am proud to be a part of that every day.
To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of the intelligent people
and the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty;
to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better
whether by a healthy child, a garden patch,
or a redeemed social condition;
to know that one life has breathed easier
because you lived here.
This is to have succeeded.
