Hikisha Harris finished breast cancer treatment 5 years ago. She’s the author of the book The Survivor Kit: Cancer Doesn’t Have Any Hold On Me!, available from Amazon, Amazon Kindle, and Barnes and Noble. She exhibited with the book at the 2016 Living Beyond Breast Cancer Conference in Philadelphia.
Cancer pushed Hikisha to overcome her fear of singing and led her to record her very first song, “You Are Amazing,” during her cancer journey. She has since recorded a second song, “I’m A Survivor,” which appears in chapter 7 of her book and is available through iTunes.
In October 2013, Hikisha served as keynote speaker and recording artist for the Think Pink: Stepping Into Fashion show and for the Mending Lives One Step at a Time program in Richmond, Virginia. In 2016, she was featured on the Sharvette Mitchell Radio Show, and in 2018, was interviewed by Cross Cultural Talks, LLC. Hikisha’s goal is to reach as many people experiencing cancer and other chronic illnesses as possible with the love of Christ. She says her love for the Lord has “inspired her to keep believing.” Her hope is that when you read her book and hear her songs, “you will do the same.”
Hikisha attended Virginia Commonwealth University where she received a BS in psychology. She looks forward to finishing her Master of Divinity degree at Liberty University in August 2018.
