Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to raise awareness of this complex disease.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is also a time when many individuals, businesses and communities come together to show their support for those impacted by the disease. However, for many people, it is also a difficult reminder of their personal experience with breast cancer and the many lives we have lost, and continue to lose, to metastatic breast cancer.

What does community look like?

As the staff prepared for this year’s campaign, it felt more important than ever to focus on our stories and our collective strength. To show the real breast cancer, with all of its hardships and hope. Read the full message from our CEO Jean Sachs.

Like many things in 2020, Breast Cancer Awareness Month is different this year. At Living Beyond Breast Cancer, we believe community begins with your stories. Sharing personal experiences builds empathy, compassion, and understanding. It allows every person to voice their unique perspective while building respect for our differences... And it supports our belief that the breast cancer community is stronger together than any of us could be on our own.
