When She Moves
When she moves........
She's so mysterious,
No one can quite figure her out;
She goes on the prowl, must be stopped somehow,
She'll replace your faith with doubt.
She's as sly as a fox, as strong as an ox, make you leave your day job too;
She can break up your home, have you feeling alone and strip you of your sanity, Boo!
She seek out her prey, every minute, every day, to see whose life she can take;
She goes on attack, especially when you fight back, she can be as deadly as a snake.
When she moves........
She's just like a thief in the night;
By the time she's done, she's robbed everyone, so make sure you put up a fight.
She packs a mean punch, have you canceling lunch or throwing out your whole dinner plate;
If you know firsthand, black, white, woman, man,
When she moves, she don't discriminate.
Oh how I long for that day, when scientists say,
She'll no longer move anymore;
Painful days, sleepless nights,
We'll no longer have to fight,
They finally came up with a cure!
These are my own personal thoughts. I am fighting metastatic breast cancer (also called stage IV), which is breast cancer that has spread to another part of the body, most commonly the liver, brain, bones or lungs.
I've decided to write a short poem on how metastatic breast cancer has affected me.
Don't allow it to steal your joy. You can still enjoy life. Please let people in who want to support you, especially those that are going through the same thing. We understand better than anybody else.
I think the biggest thing for me is learning and watching others who are going through the same thing thrive and live life every day, gracefully accepting what is called, "Our New Normal."
