Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act
The Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act (HR 2178/S.1374, fast tracks disability and federal health care benefits for individuals with metastatic breast cancer (MBC).
Currently there is a 24-month waiting period for Medicare eligibility and a five-month waiting period for Social Security Disability Insurance benefits for people with MBC. This bill is co-sponsored by Senators McSally (R-AZ) and Smith (D-CT) in the Senate; and in the House co-sponsors are Congressman King (R-NY) and Congresswoman Castor (D-FL). We're joining Susan G. Komen in their efforts to pass this legislation.
