Event details

Join Living Beyond Breast Cancer and the National Navigation Roundtable (NNRT) for a free, hourlong webinar on how you can help your patients navigate how to discuss breast cancer with their children.

During the program, featured panelists will share insights and an overview of the skills and tools needed to guide young breast cancer patients in having open and supportive discussions with children and teens about coping with their loved one’s diagnosis, treatment, and beyond.

The program’s panelists will:

  • Summarize best practices for communications to parents, grandparents, and other adults who need to effectively talk with children about breast cancer
  • Describe how different types of parenting relationships, varied family structures, and cultural/ethnic beliefs may impact discussions about breast cancer
  • Discuss inclusivity of both children and teens, and explore different needs across various ages, developmental stages, and life experiences
  • Identify groups disproportionately affected by disparities in parenting experiences due to barriers to care and health inequities
  • Identify tools and resources to offer support and best communication practices to patients and their children

Please note: Certificates of participation are available only to those who joined the live program on 9/14/2022.
