About Our Speaker

Hope S. Rugo, MD, is a professor of medicine in the division of hematology and oncology at the University of California San Francisco, Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center,where she directs breast cancer and clinical trial education. Her research interests include finding new therapies for metastatic breast cancer, using the immune system to make cancer more sensitive to chemotherapy, and studying circulating tumor cells to see whether they may be helpful in monitoring response to treatment.

Dr. Rugo is an active researcher and serves as the principal investigator of a number of clinical trials. She is a member of LBBC’s Medical Advisory Board and advises LBBC on our programs for people with triple-negative breast cancer.
