As Chief of Staff, Joanne Bursich oversees Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s operations, and works with the CEO and directors to advance the organization’s mission. Joanne serves as key partner with the CEO and other leadership staff in the development of LBBC’s annual program plan, timeline, budget and long term strategic plan. She directs and manages all human resources, information technology and facilities management activities.
Joanne has more than 15 years experience in the nonprofit sector, working in direct service, administration and consulting. She has deep roots in the Greater Philadelphia region and throughout her career has sought to strengthen the sector by building stronger, more efficient nonprofit organizations.
Joanne began her career in the youth development field, working to improve outcomes for young people through empowerment and leadership opportunities. She has since focused on providing programming, financial and consulting support to nonprofit organizations. Joanne most recently worked at Dunleavy and Associates, a regional consulting firm that supports charitable organizations, and Nonprofit Finance Fund, a national leader in nonprofit finance.
Joanne received her bachelor’s degree in child and family studies from Syracuse University, and holds a Masters in Public Administration from the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania. Joanne is an active volunteer, currently serving on the board of the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (DVAEYC), a professional association with more than 2,000 members.
Joanne is active in her South Philadelphia community and participates in various advocacy efforts at the local, state and national levels. In her spare time she practices yoga.
