Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s Copy Editor and Content Coordinator, Eric Fitzsimmons is responsible for editing the organization’s educational materials, including the Guides to Understanding series and news content, both online and in print. He also helps the LBBC Stylebook, ensuring the LBBC “voice” is consistent through all of the organization’s channels and media.
Eric arrived at LBBC in Spring 2016 equipped with a background in writing and editing that has included journalism, historical writing and commercial websites. He graduated from Seton Hall University in 2010 with a degree in history and was most recently a staff writer at Montgomery Media, where he covered the Philadelphia neighborhoods of Roxborough, Manayunk and East Falls for the Roxborough Review and contributed to other papers including The Ambler Gazette and The Reporter in Lansdale.
An avid stroller and recent transplant to the area, Eric enjoys wandering Philadelphia’s streets and discovering interesting sites, bookstores and dining spots, preferably at least a step off the beaten path. He is unlikely to ever be caught without a book and notebook handy for the right occasion.
What Inspires My Work at LBBC:
People need trusted resources like Living Beyond Breast Cancer that provide accurate information, presented in a way they can understand. I enjoy being able to provide material that makes a difference for the better and to be a voice for the reader, ensuring that we fulfill that promise in every publication we put out. I also get a kick out of a well-written sentence.
