On Saturday, November 12, 2016, more than 700 people came together in recognition of Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s quarter century of service at the 25th Anniversary Butterfly Ball. This special event took place at 801 Market, the former flagship location of Strawbridge & Clothier. The raw space was given a 1920s look, complete with feathers, crystals, and a little bit of sparkle.
Gala Co-Chairs Donna Noce Colaco and Frank Colaco, Emily and Gregory Dodge, Lisa and Michael Goldenberg and Joan Martin welcomed guests for an evening of dining and dancing all in support of LBBC’s mission to provide information and a community of support for all who have been affected by breast cancer.
The Going Beyond Award was presented to Jenny Burkholder, Ayanna Z. Kalasunas and Judy Weinstein, three women who have used their personal experience with breast cancer to help and to inspire others.
The Founder's Award, LBBC's highest honor, was presented to Jennifer Chalfin Simmons, MD, for the longstanding and incredible support she and has offered to LBBC and the people we serve.
The IMPACT Award was presented to its very first recipients, Andrea and Abraham Morris. The award was created to recognize those whose support has played a critical role in LBBC's evolution, and will subsequently be named after the Morrises, who have been part of LBBC for more than 20 years.
The 25th Anniversary Butterfly Ball raised close to $960,000, a record for this event. Thanks to all of our supporters and attendees who helped make this event so memorable.
