- Found friendship and companionship in the breast cancer community when she discovered Living Beyond Breast Cancer and For the Breast of Us.
Sharon D. Kidd was affectionately known as Daisy May. She was a mother of two: a daughter named Carter and a pup-son named Rufus. She founded Table Talk Cleveland, an empowerment organization that shares education and community resources and provides mentorship and experiences to youth and young adults. Sharon wrote about her experiences via her ThrivingIVLife blog at thrivingIVlife.com. She was 32 years old when she died of metastatic breast cancer in November 2022.
Rekindling the inner spirit
When Sharon D. Kidd was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer in 2019, she was getting a divorce that involved losing a husband and former friends. Soon she found herself immuno-compromised during the Covid-19 pandemic. Friendship and companionship in the breast cancer community were elusive until she found Living Beyond Breast Cancer and For the Breast of Us.
