I want to share the things I didn't know. I feel like MBC is breast cancer's dirty little secret. The 2.3 percent that don't survive is still significant — 40,000 individual lives has an incredible ripple effect. Because Black women die at a much higher rate, we must be vigilant and educated on risk reduction. I want women in at-risk communities to know what resources are available to them, and that even if you find your cancer early, that doesn't mean you're safe. You can't be a bystander in your own health.
