Emily Beard, RN, OCN, CBCN, is the program coordinator overseeing breast cancer and gynecologic oncology program development at Northside Hospital Cancer Institute in Atlanta, Georgia.
With a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Emory University and certifications in oncology nursing and breast cancer care, Emily has worked as a nurse navigator, patient advocate, and program coordinator. She has a special interest in metastatic breast cancer and developing initiatives for young people with cancer, specifically in the areas of hereditary cancer, fertility preservation, and sexuality and intimacy. She enjoys volunteering her time with various oncology education and patient advocacy organizations, including ONCC and Young Survival Coalition. She is currently serving a term as Chair of the Board of Directors for Team Maggie’s Dream, an Atlanta-based non-profit dedicated to funding fertility preservation for young cancer survivors.
