Jackie became a nurse 19 years ago after a long career in banking and has worked in oncology for 13 years.  After being diagnosed with breast cancer herself at the age of 41, she decided to specialize in oncology due largely to the positive experiences Jackie had with the oncology nurses she encountered during her time with cancer.

She transferred to a bone marrow transplant unit not long after completing her cancer treatment. After working there for many years, she then transferred to the outpatient treatment center where she worked as a faculty practice nurse for three years. Then she was presented with the opportunity to become a breast nurse navigator, and, after three years in that role, Jackie was asked to pilot a new program in which navigation would follow the patient from diagnosis to survivorship, guiding the patient each step of the way. Jackie is looking forward to more wonderful journeys with her patients.
