Gina is vice president of institutional advancement at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center in Pittsburgh. She has 20 years of experience in fundraising and donor stewardship as a development and arts-administration professional for numerous nonprofit organizations; these include the African American Museum in Philadelphia, Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, and the Philadelphia Orchestra Association.
In 2017 at age 48, Gina was diagnosed with stage II triple-negative breast cancer. As a result of her breast cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment, Gina understands the value and importance of giving women access to trusted information and the tools for early detection and self-advocacy. As the board’s vice chair, Gina joins Living Beyond Breast Cancer in supporting all people affected by the disease – especially people of color who may encounter racial bias in their breast cancer care and treatment. Gina serves on LBBC’s Black Breast Cancer Advisory Board.
