Accountant/Finance Manager
LBBC is hiring an Accountant/Finance Manager who will be responsible for daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. LBBC is growing and currently has a budget of $7 million and staff of 35.
LBBC is headquartered just outside Philadelphia in Bala Cynwyd, PA and is a hybrid workplace. This position is primarily in-office with the opportunity to work from home approximately one day per week.
Key responsibilities
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions including donations, purchases, and payments. LBBC uses QuickBooks, Bill.com, and Bill Spend and Expense (formerly called Divvy).
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing.
- Work with the organization’s Development team to accurately book and reconcile donations that come from numerous platforms and systems. Ensure attention to detail in understanding the source of donations so that they are booked accurately and can be acknowledged in a timely manner.
- Process and book payroll, including ancillary benefits (401(k), insurance, benefit accounts).
- Support the organization’s Finance team in building and the annual budget and producing regular reporting. Support staff throughout the organization who manage departmental and grant budgets.
- Support the organization’s Finance team with the annual audit and tax filings procedures.
Education and experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting in nonprofit organizations.
- Certification, associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Bill.com, Bill Spend and Expense, and Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and required financial reporting.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Salary range and benefits

Manager, Support Services

LBBC is hiring a Manager, Support Services who will manage the day-to-day work of the organization’s direct service programs, including the Breast Cancer Helpline, the LBBC Fund, and Reading for Reassurance. Through these programs, LBBC connects constituents with critical resources. The Manager will refine programs to ensure that services are delivered equitably and meet the diverse psychosocial and support needs of the breast cancer community.
LBBC is headquartered just outside Philadelphia in Bala Cynwyd, PA and is a hybrid workplace. The position may be fully remote, but candidates must be able to work within normal business hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern Time and be able to travel to our office near Philadelphia as required.
Key responsibilities
Leadership and Support Services Strategy
- Manage LBBC Support Service team, providing guidance, growth opportunities, and support for staff development.
- Develop and implement strategies for delivering equitable and psychosocially supportive services to individuals with breast cancer, caregivers, and underserved communities.
- Innovate and refine program processes to enhance service delivery, participant engagement, and satisfaction.
- Evaluate program impact and recommend innovative approaches to improve services and outcomes.
- Explore opportunities to expand caregiver support and integrate this into LBBC’s existing programs.
- Represent LBBC at regional and national conferences and events and assist in fundraising efforts when necessary. Build and sustain strategic partnerships with external organizations and individuals to expand program reach and foster collaboration in cancer support.
Volunteer Recruitment and Retention
- Develop and execute strategies for recruiting, training, and retaining a diverse group of volunteers for the Breast Cancer Helpline. Ensure that volunteers receive appropriate support and that their efforts are recognized and aligned with program needs.
Financial Oversight and Grant Management
- Oversee the administration of the Living Beyond Breast Cancer Fund, managing grant applications, disbursements, and ensuring compliance with funding guidelines.
- Lead the development of annual program plans and budgets, ensuring they align with LBBC’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Manage and oversee the LBBC travel grant fund for the LBBC Metastatic Breast Cancer Conference and LBBC volunteer training programs.
Program Development and Strategic Oversight for Reading for Reassurance
- Guide the growth and strategic direction of the Reading for Reassurance program to better serve families affected by breast cancer.
- Build partnerships with authors, publishers, and educational entities to enhance program offerings.
Research and Competitive Analysis
- Work with the grant writing team to identify research opportunities focusing on equitable support services.
- Stay informed of industry trends and best practices through monitoring competitive programs and initiatives in the cancer community, leveraging insights for continuous improvement.
Social Media and Content Planning
- Conduct social listening and use insights to inform program design and content tailored to support the needs of breast cancer patients and caregivers.
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or a related field; master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 5 year’s experience in delivering psychological support services in the cancer community
- Expertise in developing and managing support service programs that operate from a health equity and innovation perspective
- Ability to innovate and improve services, fostering both participant engagement and positive outcomes
- Strong organizational skills with a self-directed, collaborative approach to work
- Good communicator, comfortable in public speaking and networking; strong written and verbal skills
- Familiarity with presentation software, social media, scheduling tools, and databases
- Flexibility to work beyond standard hours as needed, including travel for events and conferences
